My friend was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis two yrs ago, never claimed anything although she works (not at the moment due to the pandemic) Her flare ups can be pretty awful.
just wondering if it would be worth the stress of applying for pip ?

PIP is not about diagnosis, it is about how much difficulty a claimant has carrying out the prescribed activities the majority of the time. Information here

Hi @dynasty30
What a kind friend you are I'd recommend checking out the links kindly provided by @calcotti for sure.
I have Crohn's disease and once received PIP to help so this might offer some hope, but it very much is contingent on how each person's impairment impacts them individually. Please let us know if you need any more support and I hope your friend is keeping okay.
