The waiting game

So my partner was officially diagnosed with MS in November, and to be honest it was kind of a relief!! He had been suffering with so many symptoms, but the doctor refused to diagnose him (we believe it’s because his mum also has ms and they don’t link to link family members), and he thought he might be going crazy!!
Anyway, after the diagnosis, I applied for pip, esa and UC for him, I also booked an appointment for an occupational therapist and he has also had a referral for a psychologist and a knee specialist.
At the moment we are limbo either waiting for assessments, reports or appointments and I know COVID is partially responsible and I know I should be more patient, but I hate all this waiting. You feel like you can’t move forward with your life until it’s all sorted, and it’s driving me nuts!!
Anyway, sorry for the rant, but it’s nice to get these things off your chest sometimes😂

I'm sorry you both had to fight so hard for a diagnosis but I'm glad it's been something of a relief for you.
When did you put in the applications for each of them? Fingers crossed you're not kept waiting too long. :)

The pip form was sent back end of dec as was the esa WCA, but we had the assessment on Tuesday for esa, so just waiting on the pip assessment. We also had the OT out last week and are waiting on a needs and housing report, which hopefully will lead to a council bungalow, as my partner needs level access.

It Is very frustrating waiting for everything to get in place

You could have sorted some of these without a diagnosis as PIP isnt about diagnosis but I understand why people wait

    Fingers crossed things are moving

What is availability of bungalows in the area .

    You may have long
wait even with ot report I'm afraid for level housing . I waited a year but was only put as priority due to about to become homeless with a dependant child

Keep us up to date on progress

Yeah, we wanted to wait until the diagnosis as the medical evidence helps, but also didn’t realise you could apply without a diagnosis.
Luckily in our area there are quite a few bungalows as our local council ma agate and maintain all of their own properties. Unfortunately due to COVID, a lot are going to become available according to the housing advisor.
