@Sandy_123 Although 77 is higher than what is expected, its not totally out of control to be fair.
If you want any suggestions on what to eat instead of carbs feel free to let me know.0 -
Carbs really affect diabetes and you are now told to cut the carbs or work out insulin dosages based in carb intake
I'm type 2 but insulin dependant but like mark says you can adjust dosage in accordance with what you eat
On a separate note have any of you seen the recent adverts for those sugar monitor 24 -7 machines and getting a free trial not sure how much they cost probably a fortune0 -
My Dr has left me a machine at reception to test bloods my son has to pick it up and my thyroxine from chemist has my spine is playing up again0

@Sandy_123 this link will be useful, it also has a suggested meal plan and recipes.
https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes/enjoy-food/eating-with-diabetes/meal-plans/low-carb
For a starters, what I did was I cut out potatoes, pasts and bread, as these are quite high in carbs.
I replaced cereals with eggs, so for breakfast I will have scrambled eggs, or an omelette.
For lunch, I eat a lot of salads.
Evening meal, is often fish or some sort of meat with veg.1 -
@janer1967 which one do you mean? I use a Free Style Libre. Its amazing!0
-
Chickpea and tuna salad sounds nice might have that 4 tea0
-
I cant remember what its called just seen it in tv . Think you wear a patch and it puts reading onto a phone app and warns you of low or high readings0
-
Sounds like Libre, its a patch that you insert onto/into your arm and it can be scanned by a reader or by an app on your phone, and if you use the latest version Libre 2, it can have alarms where it alerts you.
If I remember rightly its about £50 for a patch and each patch lasts 14 days, so its £100 for every 4 weeks, I used to self fund, however I get it on prescription now, there is eligibility criteria set which is set by each individual CCG and if you meet this then your consultant cant apply for the funding.0 -
I think tonight I'm going to be having spag bol ?if I can eat it lol, I'm currently trying to lose a bit of weight but it isn't easy. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated. ?0

-
I made chicken stir fry and having some trifle bit later0
-
All looks delicious0
-
Chinese take away I think , time has run away with me today and not prepared anything0
-
I've just had home made cheese salad. That may be it for today. Maybe a few nuts later. @janer1967 I do like a Chinese take-away but not had one for years for various reasons. I've been meaning to try out some more home made sweet and sour sauces. I'm searching for the best one, trying to match one I had years ago in a take-away in Essex. Best I ever tasted and not found anything like it since.0
