Big night in our house tonight - our 24yr old autistic son is currently making macaroni cheese from scratch all by himself for the first time!

He has had 2 demonstrations but seemed to pick it up quite fast so he is going it alone!

This is massive for him as, up to now, he has only been able to do batchelors super noodles. So he does know how to boil a kettle and do pasta.

The sauce part is new though and it can be tricky to get a smooth sauce for anyone.

I do have a blender if it turns out lumpy. He hasn't asked for help yet (apart from asking which flour to use, which pan to use and wanting to know why the hob wasnt lighting)

Be interesting to see what turns out! He loves maccy cheese.

** just looked and he is doing well but his sauce hasn't thickened at all really. Not enough flour. His pasta looks good though.

Think it will be perfectly edible, just waiting to see if he remembers to grate the cheese and mix it altogether.  It really is a massive step up from the noodles!**

Thanks @Sandy_123 :)  He did a great job but unfortunately became annoyed during the meal because I told him he'd done a good job more than once. Doh! He was able to say it's very annoying when i say the same thing more than once.

Think he was a tad stressed but it just goes to show he can do it! Onwards and upwards!
