Hello I have just been awarded pip and was wondering if my daughter who has part time work because she cares for me would be able to claim carers element on uc for me and would this be backdated if so, any advice please thankyou

If she looks after you for 35 hours per week and is claiming UC she can simply tell them and the carer element will be added to her award. It will not be backdated if she has not previously told them she is caring for you.1
