Hi my Son is Spastic Quadriplegic CP from birth non verbal and has Autism... he needs all care .. he sits in a moulded wheelchair and can use a joystick and one finger to find his way round the internet ... what is troubling me is we never got a shielding letter for him and can’t make out why his CP friends have had there vaccine already any Sam ( he is 35) hasn’t.. I myself have early stage Parkinsons.. and arthritis... he also has carers come in and one of them has refused the vaccine..
sorry just wanted to offload .. thanks for reading this any suggestions greatly appreciated...... ??????

Hi and welcome
I'm no specialist regarding this but I have seen it mentioned that CP people are in group 6 and they are getting their vaccines now
Have you contacted himself go regarding this and about shielding? Was he notified to shield first lockdown
I will tag in our CP adviser who can probably help more
@Richard_Scope can you help here -
I have a feeling he has been forgotten about ... I will phone Gp tomorrow morning ... any advice is greatly received I am getting more and more upset ... we had a Covid19 death in the family and I think it has heightened tension... ...

Of course you will be upset by it having seeing the consequences in your family
I hope you get some answers I have heard a lot of gp surgeries are a bit unhelpful when enquiring about the vaccine . No doubt endless enquiries not helping
There is a sort of calculator on internet where you put details in and it tells you when to expect to get vaccine. If you search covid vaccine when will I get mine (,sorry I dont know exact site ) -
Have tried the calculator but it keeps changing his dates ...
-
It is just an estimate and will change due to numbers that gave had it and numbers still waiting

Hi @patsyanne
People living with CP like your son and me are in category 6 for receiving the vaccine. CP itself is not clinically extremely vulnerable. I would suggest calling your son's G.P. just to make sure they are aware of him.Scope
