LCWRA backpayment

Hi, my partner has been awarded LWRCA, we have 2 letters in our journal, the second one is with the amount of backpayment, but it has been referred to the debt recovery department to seeing they want to take any for depts to the dwp that we owe, does anybody know long it takes them to make a decision, because we are waiting for them then they will make the payment to us.

Hard to say how long as each case is different but I wouldn't think it would be that long -
Thanks for your reply, but would you say less than a week, or longer, we need to buy a new car, and just trying to get a rough idea

I really couldn't say non of us know what is going on with DWP. They may have backlogs that may not. They may have staff shortages or anything
Also depends on how your case is if it is complex or not, what the debt is , and is there plan in place

Hi @glyntamdarcie, it would be very unusual if it was less than a week, there are usually delays with debt management processing things and they're very busy. You can call them direct to discuss it and they can let you know if it's being looked at yet.
