I actually went shopping on fri for the first time since 23/12 (had deliveries since then) and I noticed how many gaps there were round our (massive) Tesco's

I went to one store and they were picking for online, so explains if no stock on shelves in that place.

One of the great cause rumours during lockdown one. There were no shortages. What there was in abundance was an excess of idiots stocking up on stuff in the deluded belief that there was a shortage or was going to be a shortage. A very different thing. As soon as they got a grip on that then mysteriously those shortages went away.

Even now some supermarkets are warning of shortages in things for which its known there are no shortages at all. It’s just warning shots that they are expecting idiocy to occur once again and would prefer people limit themselves rather than have to impose limits.

I have a very restricted diet and found lots of my 'regulars' missing over the last year.  I've had to double up when they are available just in case they're not the next time.  Of course, if several of us are doing that, it's not going to help the situation lol!

I've also noticed the quality of several items decline during the pandemic.  :(

I’m intolerant of dairy, sugar and gluten. Once we could get deliveries in lockdown one I was pleased to note that my choices were widening by the week. Not sure I’ve had such a varied diet for years.
