Poem called City of Culture 2021
The announcement that the City Culture for 2021 is going to be an amazing platform for the young generation to show off their talent.
It is amazing to see the transformations that have been made and laid in preparing the city for us being City Culture.
Here in Coventry are truly welcoming cities to a diversity of people who have come to other countries outside of the UK as they look to start a new life here in Coventry.
Time for city Coventry to embrace this opportunity to rise profile little city of Coventry
We are looking to receive people who have never visited Coventry coming to see our City.
There is glee for people to see on the faces of people who live in Coventry
We are looking forward to people enjoy the different actives we have got organised for the members of the public.
The heart has been put back in Coventry with all parts getting uplift
Which quiet swift
Which stopped party city from drifting into needing repairs.
As my hair on the back starts to stand up with the drawing closer.
The work to complete the regeneration is near its end.
We intend to show our City to people around the UK and the rest of the world.
As the City of Coventry twirls in all glory.
I hope to see families enjoy themselves
I am happy to glee and sparkle in the city of Coventry.
A variety of different acts will people relax enjoy themselves
Time to bring some happiness so many lives rise again after slowly coming out of the national lockdown.
With our town looking stunning now it might get the eyes of the nation looking at the city of Coventry once again.
As final last touches are made.
Before the city of Coventry pride itself.
I hope sunshine shines brightly to show off the impressive transformation that has taken place to the city of Coventry.
Stunning flowers have been planted around the city to make the city stand out.
This his mount new opportunity through being the city of Culture
We won't lift the city of Coventry get it more publicity
We are city multiply national city welcoming everyone
We look forward to showcasing our city of Coventry.

The Coventry blitz blew our city to bits.
Our ruins, our old cathedral, are a stark reminder of what happened one dark night in the city of Coventry.
Our young children had to face some difficult times as some children have had to watch their parents die in front of their young eyes.
The young children had no one to wipe their tears that ran down their young faces.
Their children were left with smells of burning and fearful memories of hearing and seeing bombs coming black-led colour skies to hang over the city of Coventry.
We are thankful to those soldiers who lived in Coventry and put their lives in danger to protect our city of Coventry in their hour of need.
The soldiers will live in our memories of what they have done for your city of Coventry.
The names of lives lost in the Coventry blitz are also placed in the ruins of the old Coventry cathedral.
We pray that each person who died is at peace now looking at the loved one who they left. behind.
We can be great healers but we will never for what our heroes did for the city of Coventry.
We make sure our heroes' memories burn bright hearts forever and ever.
The sights of the Coventry blitz remain as great reminders.
School children are taught about the Coventry blitz
As we sit reminiscing about who our lives would have been if heroes had stood up for the city of Coventry.
We have photos and videos the Coventry blitz help teach tourists the visit our city of Coventry.
There even some old soldiers who are able to share their memories with their grandchild who ask them what like to be part of the Coventry blitz
The great determination and courage that all soldiers showed.
The people of Coventry stood together hand in hand with each other to help the city of Coventry city through the blitz.
The Coventry blitz is part of a history book about the city of Coventry
We fall silent on the date the Coventry blitz ended to remember our fall.
We are thankful many people would have to make sacrifices so we could live our lives normal today.
We are eternally grateful to our heroes.
We know the blitz is difficult for many people
But it important for the families of Coventry heroes to remember the good times they shared with them.
We salute them each remembers the day with have for Coventry blitz
Each day to early morning sunrise over Coventry cathedral.
We are tearful as we walk past the old Coventry cathedral.
We light candles to remember our fallen.
The old remains of Coventry cathedral stand proudly next to the new Coventry cathedral. in all its glory.
I would like to thank you, everyone, who helped City Coventry raise from their knees after the blitz.

I really like both poems @Globster, especially the one about the blitz. The Coventry blitz blew our city to bits.I think this is a really good opening line!
The 300 word statement looks good too. I think it's great that you've managed to include a bit about what you'd want to achieve, as well as what you can offer to the role as a disabled poet. -

@Globster I see you've been busy again!
I really like both of these poems. You've clearly given a lot of thought to each entry, and it seems to me that a lot of work has gone into each one? Well done.
Like Tori_Scope I think that's a great opening line as well. That's a really attention-grabber!The Coventry blitz blew our city to bits.Out of curiosity, how do you work when it comes to your writing? Do you write each of your poems all in one go? Or do you keep adding to them bit by bit? Also, do you finish them and never go back? Or do you find yourself editing them and re-writing some parts?
As always, it's great to read your work. Thank you for sharing and all the best with the Coventry competition!
