You should inform them about hospital stays but stays of 28 days or less will not affect payment. Stays in hospital seated by less than 27 days are added together. Days of admission and discharge do not count as days in hospital.0

Unfortunately if you wish to claim benefits you have to give up some privacy.1 -
Calicotti,
fundermentsl rights to privacy are that. If every person needs to write to the government and advice them about there person information , being disabled should not be a lawful reason for intrusive questions into a person life. We quickly move from a democracy to autocracy for people that meet the demands they should be treated different from others .
that’s is very worrying . I would like to find the legislature that this is found on.0 -
My take would be that if you wish to claim benefits you need to provide information necessary to administer those benefits just as you do for tax purposes or medical reasons etc.
Obviously you are not obliged to claim benefits available to you if you do not wish to provide the required information.0 -
No, if you don’t stay over night and it’s day surgery , the state does not beee informed unless over 27days at whicjlh point they suspend entitlement to Dyla as the state is supporting you. That is a reasonable option within human rights legislation Z.
however on receiving the new form it’s asking fro every appointment and clinical
letter since last claim.Thee state rightfully expect you to know and inform of any change to your functioning not the every time you have seen a consultant. The new form is asking for this Z
I hope thus clarifies matters0 -
@Travelhear Hello there, I hope you are keeping well this Saturday morning
As clarified by our other members, you don’t need to inform PIP about any hospital appointments or treatment not requiring an overnight stay. This information is not asked for on the PIP2 form.
The Government webpage on ‘Going into hospital if you get benefits’ also states claimants must inform PIP if they go into hospital for one night or longer, as claims may be stopped or reduced where hospital stays aren’t reported.
The exact information you need to pass on is:
· full name
· date of birth
· National Insurance number
You need to give details about your stay in hospital, including:
· the exact date you went into hospital
· the exact date you left hospital (if you’ve left hospital)
· the name of the hospital you were in
· the name of the ward you were on (if you know it)
· if you moved between hospitals
· any other hospital stays in the last 28 days
· where you were discharged to, for example your home or a care homeAs per our house rules, please be careful to ensure information presented is correct and appropriate, using reliable sources to back up claims made.
I appreciate filling in the PIP2 form can be taxing so if you have any difficulties do let us know or alternatively you can access independent local advice via the Advice Local website.
Good luck and best wishes.
