Hi my name is Sonia and I’m really I want to speak to someone about my pip decision and I’m not feeling well and i don’t know what to do
-
What do you want to ask about your PIP decision
-
I had my decision letter yesterday and they give me the standard LD and cut my mobility i want to know what I can doing because I’m not happy with the decision
-
Hello @rihad123 - & welcome to the community. There should be details towards the back of your decision letter about a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR), which is where another decision maker will look at everything again. This is best done within a month from the date on your decision letter (tho you can do one within 13 months, appealing to a tribunal if your late MR isn't accepted by the DWP).A MR is best put in writing by letter, or simply using this form: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/683380/if-you-disagree-with-a-decision-made-by-dwp.PDFHope this helps, but please do come back with any questions.

You can appeal the decision by submitting a mandatory reconsideration
Do it in writing go through each descriptor you think you should score more points and explain why
Give real life examples of what happened when you try and do the task
Any support you need, if you can't do it why not, any aids you use
What are the consequences of doing it
Can you do it safely and reliably and repeated
There is lots of info on here in the pip section about doing this -
than thank you for your help the problem I read about MR they can stop your pip that’s why I’m really scared to do it
-
It is rare for them to stop your award or reduce it
The most likely outcome is that there will be no change
But some are successful and get higher award -
Please don't worry @rihad123 - your current PIP claim would continue until a decision is made on a MR. Most likely your award would stay the same, tho some increase. It's rare for an award to actually decrease. Unfortunately the success rate with a MR is, I think, currently less than 20%, but, if followed by a tribunal (which is independent of the DWP) this is much more successful.

thank you for answering my questions I will try to do it

Hello @rihad123 and welcome to the community, I hope the MR goes well and let us know how you get on.
