Hi Kate,
Thanks for your question.
The answer to your question is once they have got the report from the Assessor, it will be reviewed by a "Decision Maker" at the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP). What the decision-maker will be doing is reading the report and then deciding what entitlements that they are giving you. This would take a couple of weeks, but I will warn you that everything regards how long it takes depends on where you are living and any backlog that the PIP team are having.
Hope this helps.0 -

Hi Kate,
Great to see you are from South Wales.
Yes, you can call and request the report. You can call 0800 169 0310 and they should send the report to you. But get the report once you get your entitlement letter.
Normally when someone wants to request the report, it would be for a Mandatory Reconsideration, which means you are not happy with what they have awarded you.
So please request it after you have been given the final results.

@kate2021 Welcome to Scope!
As @WelshDragonTail12 says your wait will depend on what (if any) backlog there is where you live. There is no timescale set for this, however most people seem to receive their decision letter within 8/10 weeks.
Usually, any award money arrives in your bank account before the decision letter arrives.
Regarding requesting the Assessor's Report (PA4) it is entirely up to you whether you want sight of it before you receive the decision letter. Some people find it useful, others don't.
If you do call for the PA4 some of the DWP call-handlers will tell you you are not entitled to the report until after the decision is made. This is not correct. Other members have said it's easier to hang-up and call again to speak with another call-handler who will send it rather than argue with the original call-handler.
Should you request the PA4, please remember it is not the decision, it is a recommendation by the Assessor to the Decision Maker. From what is known, Decision Makers *usually* follow the recommendation but don't always do so.
Personally, I would request the PA4 as it gives a head-start on compiling a Mandatory Reconsideration should the PA4 not reflect what someone was expecting in terms of award.
Good Luck!1 -
