Can I work whilst claiming LCWRA, my wife works and claims UC, does it matter where I work? Thank you in advance for advice...

HI,You would both be claiming UC as a couple, rather than just your wife. Yes you can work while claiming UC. Whether you would still be entitled to any UC would depend on both of your earnings because your UC will reduce by 63% after the work allowance. Use a benefits calculator to check continued entitlement. If you continue to be entitled to some UC while working do be aware that if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming LCWRA then you could be re-assessed early and the decision could go against you. If you start working you'll need to report the changes onto your journal.0
