Waiting for telephone WCA since April. Is this normal?

Hello- I’m the appointee for my grandson who has Autism,ADHD and Tourette’s.
I applied , on his behalf for UC in January this year. I sent the health Assessment questionnaire back in April. A telephone WCA was cancelled in June( they said because of my grandson’s conditions he would need a doctor- who are hard to get hold of)
we have heard nothing since, and are still on the assessment rate. I rang recently to find out what is happening and they said they are just fully booked up.

I know covid has delayed everything but is this time delay the usual at the moment? The increase due to covid has helped but that is due to end next month.

There are unfortunately lots of delays at the moment @mokelly50, as I'm sure you can imagine. Is your grandson able to cope financially for the time being, and pay for the essentials such as rent, bills, and food?0
