Help with getting a mobility scooter.

Hi,
I'm new to Redbridge, I've never been here or lived here before. I did a home exchange.
In the past 4 years I went from having bad pain all over, to becoming disabled. I can hardly walk. I have fibromyalgia & rheumatoid arthritis in my body, oesteo arthritis in my hands.
I moved to a ground floor flat so I can use a walking aid.
I have a little dog, & dog walkers are very expensive. Plus, I have not left my flat, except for going to A&E, four times. I desperately need help with getting a mobility scooter. I can't afford new or second hand ones.
Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks.

Have you looked into this before deciding exactly what you want? The motability scheme for mobility scooters are extremely expensive. The smallest scooters start from £12 per week, that's insane because you can buy them for about £350-£450

No I'm on UC & DLA.

To have a scooter from motability with a DLA award you must be claiming high rate mobility. Your mobility payments will then be used to pay for your scooter. https://www.motability.co.uk/products/scooters-and-powered-wheelchairs/

Oh well, that means I can't get one as I'm on lower disability.  Although my disability has got worse.

If you are under State Pension age then you will eventually be invited to apply for PIP. If your condition has got worse you can start the process yourself but before you do this you should get expert advice because PIP and DLA are 2 completely different benefits. Whether you qualify will depend on how your conditions affect you against the PIP descriptors. Start that here. https://advicelocal.uk/

I have electric chair from mobility scheme it's the best decision I ever made it just depends if you want to pay  your mobility part off your pip and you have to have 12 mouth left on your benefits to get one
