Hi everyone, nice to join the forum! I too recieved the letter about "New Style ESA" phone appointment today, even though I'm in support group. Scheduled for next week. I left a message on my U/C journal asking for more info because my anxiety has shot throuh the roof with it. Mind somewhat at ease with previous posts, so thanks for that! I will keep you posted if I hear anything further. Stay safe everyone!

Hi Kurt. I’ve had a call today about it. Mines scheduled for January. Have yours yet ? How did it go ?I’m really unnerved because she said it will be fairly regular now so get used to it.1

If you're in the Support Group and you claimed New style ESA during the pandemic then this appointment will be a one off and no further appointments will be needed. It will be just to agree to your work commitments, which will simply be to agree to report any changes.

Work coaches often say things that are incorrect.2

As advised, if you're definitely in the Support Group this will be a one off appointment. You shouldn't believe everything a work coach tells you.2

we had something similar when my partner briefly lost her job and we had to do joint UC claim. A work coach told me she’d be ringing every few months and scheduled an appt. I complained and by magic the appt disappeared from the diary ?
fancy doing stuff like this before Xmas. Bloody grinches1 -
As you're claiming Universal Credit then it will be LCWRA rather than Support Group.. @cherbear i'm assuming you've been found to have LCWRA and not LCW? If it's just LCW then the appointments would continue, depending on your commitments.

Thanks for confirming that. As advised, it's just a one off appointment to agree to your commitments.
