The Indian Pipe Flower - This fascinating plant (Monotropa uniflora) is definitely one of nature’s weird wonders. Because it has no chlorophyll and doesn’t depend on photosynthesis, this ghostly white plant is able to grow in the darkest of forests.
Many people refer to this strange plant as Indian pipe fungus, but it is not a fungus at all – it just looks like one. It is actually a flowering plant, and believe it or not, it is a member of the blueberry family. --Nancy Noels

This Amazonian Tree with human-sized leaves is finally classified as a new species:Scientists have known about this extremely rare tree for decades but did not have any genetic material to describe it. In 2005 a couple of botanists collected seeds from a tree in Jamari National Forest, an ancient tropical forest in the Amazon. They took the seeds and planted them and waited for one to flower. Thirteen years later one of the trees flowered and bore fruit, giving the genetic material necessary to name the new species. Coccoloba gigantifolia.

Has anyone thought about the worldly plants are actually farming us, by giving us oxygen daily through the photosynthesis process, so they can consume us later on? Makes sense,

This thread reminded me of a story that happened with my friend a couple of years ago. She had two rose bushes in pots. That year however the flowers were opening like tight flowers. They looked like dried rose flowers, with too many tightly bunched petals, and short stubby flowers. The year before flowers were quite normal, medium-sized loose flowers. The leaves were healthy and the plants overall look healthy, it was just really strange flowers. One of the flowers even had 2 buds. I attached the picture.I usually order flowers on [Removed by moderator – advertising link] every fortnight, but never met something like this before.
