Hello, my daughter has autism and ADHD and I'm thinking of applying for the DFG for a loft conversion so that she has a therapy / sensory room. We own our own home and she has her own bedroom but the level of noise and her insomnia is keeping everyone up. Would love to hear about your experiences of applying for this grant. Thank you.

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing a little bit about yourself and your daughter.
Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), but I'm sure some of our members will be able to help and share their experiences. In the meantime, you might find the resource below helpful, as it provides a little bit more information about the DFG:
I will also tag your comment, in the hope that our members will see your comment and share their thoughts about DFG's.
If you have any further questions or queries, then please let us know.

Take a look at the gov website as well.I would imagine each local authority would have their own process and way of assessing an application and it might be worth speaking with them. From the information available too because it is for someone under the age of 18 your income or savings won’t be taken into account.

A needs assessment will mosy likely be needed before they will agree anything.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

Hi @dannielleread
Welcome to the community!
This thread hasn't been active in a little while, so I'm not 100% sure whether the original poster will reply. You'd be welcome to start your own thread about this topic, too.
Have you been able to find all of the information you need about the disabled facilities grant (DFG)?
