PIP appeal questions, online appeal

Hi there,
I have the option of appealing PIP online and I have a few questions if anyone knows.

I'm a bit confused with the appeal process.

1. Do I need to attach evidence with the appeal form or does all evidence that you've perviously sent to DWP for MR and your initial appplication automatically get forwarded to them?

2. Are you even able to attach evidence with the online appeal form?

3. Can you upload extra evidence? My condition is the same but I've just found some extra evidence that might be helpful that I didn't send to MR.

4. Does the appeal request get submitted and then you get extra time to gather evidence/ write points explaining your case or does it all have to be added with the appeal form?

5. When posting the appeal form you are asked to include a copy of the MR decision, will I have to upload this if appealing online?

All you need at this stage is a very brief statement of why you think the decision is wrong.

Once the appeal is lodged the DWP will be notified and they will be prepare a ‘bundle’ which includes all of the documents associated with your claim. This will be sent to the tribunal service and to you.

As far as I can recall you don’t need to send a copy of the MR if you are doing it online.

Once lodged you can prepare any extra statements you wish to make and submit additional evidence prior to the hearing.

1 - no it all appears within the appeal papers.

2 - yes you can.

3 - “found some extra evidence” is s concerning phrase. Is this medical evidence? The key to winning a PIP tribunal is detailed anecdotal evidence.

4 - no there is no extra time but it can take DWP some time to produce appeal papers so there’s one opportunity there depending on the type of case and there’s a standard 11 to 16 week wait to be listed so when you have the papers there will still be a (smaller) window to add something. The reality is that the appeal papers will contain nothing you’ve not seen already so as soon as you’ve lodged your appeal there’s really no need to delay sending in a further submission. Equally though, there is no merit to repeating points or arguments already made in the MR. They will already be in the appeal papers.

5 - you are asked to supply a copy of the MR if you have one.

At the moment the online appeal process is a mess and I would never go near it unless sailing very close to the 13 month deadline. It’s so poor that, for example, it tells people making HB appeals to send them to HMCTS. The correct process is of course to lodge with your local authority. Equally the emails and text messages it triggers aren’t really informative and tend to trigger anxiety if you’re already that person.

3. yes it's medical evidence, a hospital letter.
When you say the key to winning a PIP tribunal is detailed anecdotal evidence, please can you give an example? Do you mean like
"I cannot reliably and safely chop vegetables because I have weakness and pain in my wrists (stated in OT assessment), my hands wobbled when I tried and so I have previously cut myself attempeting to chop, as a result I have a scar"

(I do have a scar from chopping, but I did not send a photo as I would not think this is allowed)

The reason that I was considering online was because I sometimes find the post to be unreliable and would like acknowledgment/ proof that they have received it, such as an email or "thank you your appeal has been submitted" page. I'm guessing if you post it that you eventually get a text acknowledgment.
When posting to DWP I never know if proof of postage, signed for, or whichever service to use, do you know which would be best?

When we did an appeal for my teen we never received the appeal bundle pack, they said it was sent out but it must have been misdelivered and it contatined so much private information, our post is frequently misdelivered unfortantely and royal mail do not help us or take accountability.

I wish DWP would send all correspondance by email.
