Hi my name is ricky. I've been handing sick notes in since March 2020. Am I entitled to back pay?

I’ve posted it poppy0

I’m struggling to make sense of it0

Can you confirm did you have a break from claiming UC from 16th May 2019 to 3rd March 2020?
I am unclear how you can have been waiting for an interview from April 2019 if the current claim was only made in March 2020.
I am also at a loss to understand how your AP can start on the 12th of the month if the claim was made on 3rd March but apart from that the logic appears sound if the claim did indeed start in March 2020.

My claim started March 2020 and sick notes handed in from later in March. Sorry I got confused0

It looks broadly correct then. If you claimed in March and LCWRA is backdated you still have to wait until the fourth month to be paid the LCWRA element which would be the July 2020 payment.0

I agree with calcotti, it all looks correct to me. If you've received money backdated from July 2020 then that's correct. I'm not sure of the reason why you requested the MR here.

What exactly do you think they have refused you? The decision letter says you were awarded LCWRA from March 2020, with payments starting from July 2020. Have you received all the money that's owed to you?

I’ve had no backdated money at all I just get the monthly allowance which first payment started November 20210
-
I see that decision was from today so you'll probably receive what's owed to you soon. As advised previously in the thread they will need to recalculate your past statements to work out exactly what's owed.I still don't understand the reason for the MR though, unless it was for the money that's owed to you but did you make that clear when you requested the MR?0
-
In that case what you need to be querying is why you haven’t been paid the LCWRA element from July 2020 as you were advised you out would be in the decision letter.ricky3776 said:I’ve had no backdated money ..
Do you mean you were paid nothing between March 2020 and November 2021 and what does your monthly allowance now consist of (as shown on the statements)?ricky3776 said:..I just get the monthly allowance which first payment started November 2021
It might help us understand if you could post a breakdown of your most recent statement and one from say September last year.0 -
yes that’s the reason I asked them for the reconsideration, for the money what’s owed from the backdating. As far as I can see on the letter there saying they can’t. Can you confirm I am entitled to back pay0
-
Not having been paid is not a reason to ask for an MR. The MR process is to ask them to change a decision. The LCWRA decision appears correct. The letter does not say you can’t be paid. On the contrary it confirms you were found to have LCWRA from March 2020 and are entitled to have the LCWRA element include do in the calculation of the amount due with effect from the July 2020 payment.ricky3776 said:yes that’s the reason I asked them for the reconsideration, for the money what’s owed from the backdating. You need to ask them why you have not been paid (if that is the case) - to do this post a query in your UC journal marked as a payment query.
Of course whether or not you are due any money depends on your overall circumstances and what other income you have.
Asper my previous postcalcotti said:It might help us understand if you could post a breakdown of your most recent statement and one from say September last year.
