Hi guys the new universal credit rules that have been announced say that claimants will have 4 weeks to find a job or face sanctions. and that you need to find a job no matter what or be sanctioned and it has to be in any category not your preferred choice anymore.
i am 23 years old and i’m on PIP. i’ve got this for 5 years from april just gone, i did have limited capability for work but that ran out and i’m awaiting a new assessment as a delay of covid. will i be exempt from these new rules? my boyfriend is a carer for me. it’s making me feel very anxious and very sick and worried.
thanks

This is what comes of playing to the scrounges and shivers narrative.
Forcing people hastily into any work is clearly not good for long term career prospects and insofar as people are pushed into employment this way is likely to end up with disgruntled employees who move on at the earliest opportunity which isn’t good for employers either.
Lots of evidence that sanctions compound problems for claimants but DWP refuse to publish their own research on the subject

If you have LCW you are not expected to look for work so the changes in job search requirements do not affect you.0 -
