Hello my assessment periods run from 5th to 6th e.g may 5 to June 6 and I am paid on the 12th of each month. I have been awarded lcwra on 24 January 2022, I provided my first fit note to dwp on 22 March 2021 and there are no gaps, the entitlement letter was sent to my journal and just said I might be owed money but I've not heard anything since and I'm just wondering if I will entitled to backpay and how long I'll have to wait for lcwra will take effect

Health condition notified in AP March to April 2021.
Waiting days are April-May, May-June, June-July.
LCWRA payable from July-August (the 12th August 2021 payment) and thereafter.
LCWRA should be included in your next payment.
The arrears payment will take longer for DWP to calculate and will be paid separately.

Because that is just the standard template letter it doesn't reflect reality
Your previous payments will need recalculated back to when you were eligible and this can take time and depends on workload and backlogs1 -
Many factors to be aware of including we still have a pandemic going on and there are huge backlogs. It’s only ever a guide not a guarantee.1

It's very often more like a few weeks, rather than within 7 working days like the letter suggests.

Last July when my daughter was found to have LCWRA there was no sign of the backdated money on day 8 after the decision was made so i put a note onto her journal and they then recalculated the statements and did a same day payment into the back with the money they owed her.1
