Hi there I was just wondering if anyone could help me out I’ve just been awarded LWCRA due to my mental and physical health, due to this I now have to quit my full time job which has been really nerve wrecking for me but I still would like to work part time 2/3 days a week to help with my routine ? How do I go about this is there a certain amount of hours / earning cap?

I’ve also been told I may be owed money due me waiting from June til now I know it’s three months after the assessment period? Does this normally go in same as your universal credit or is a seperate payment? Thanks x0

You will have the work allowance, which means a certain amount of earnings received during your assessment period will be ignored. After this the 55% deduction will apply. If you claim for help with the rent then your work allowance will be £335, if you don't claim for help with the rent it will be £557.For the LCWRA element the waiting period starts from when you first reported your health condition and then it's paid from the 4 month of your claim. When it's paid from will depend on what date exactly you reported the health condition and the dates of your assessment periods (or when you usually receive your payment each month)The LCWRA element is paid in with your usual monthly payment. If you're owed any money this will be paid separately.

Thank you for getting back so quickly much appreciated x0

Also to add, if you start working you need to report the changes onto your journal. If the work you do contradicts the reasons why you were found to have LCWRA then it could go against you when you're next reassessed.
