DLA to PIP curious

So my eldest daughter has just turned 16 in august, and was getting dla for approx 10 years.
Due to Covid we didn’t do the changeover paperwork until October and had her assessment in January.
I called today to see if they had received the report as I hadn’t heard anything (and noticed on here that you usually get a standard text when they get it). Anyway it was with the case manager and there was activity on it but no decision yet, they said early next week.
Anyway I was just curious if her award is re-awarded and there is a difference will we have to repay the difference or will she get the difference owed since we sent the paperwork.
Will update with her decision when we know

I'm assuming the DLA has continued to be paid while you wait for the PIP decision. If she has a higher award than what she's got for DLA then she won't receive any backdated money. If she has a lower award then you won't have to pay any money back to them. PIP and DLA are completely different benefits. If awarded successfully, PIP will start about 7 weeks after the decision is made. If not awarded then the DLA ends once the PIP decision is made.If you're not happy with the decision you can of course request the Mandatory Reconsideration.0
