PIP Help

Hi everyone, I’m new here.
I have a question of help to request.
I applied for PIP on 1st October 2021. I had a call a few days ago to say they had to notify me that when a “substantial“ amount of back pay is to be paid, they said they have to notify people by phone call.
They said I’d probably receive the money before the letter, and today I received £116.16 in my bank from DWP, this has completely confused me. As the amount doesn’t work out to any “minimum” amounts they pay on a weekly basis.
Has anyone gone through this scenario? And can you offer me my advice? As this doesn’t add up.
I know I’ll have more clarity when the letter arrives. But I thought I’d reach out anyway.

The only way you'll know what's going on is to ring them to ask because anything we say here will only be a complete guess. It may take a while to get through to them so be aware of that. The number is : 0800 121 4433

£116.16 doesn't seem to be a substantial amount!
Alternatively you can just wait until you get the letter which should tell you about the payments.poppy123456 said:The only way you'll know what's going on is to ring them to ask because anything we say here will only be a complete guess.0 -
Hi as above call
It may be your monthly payment from when decision was made
Try and calculate it as a daily amount rather than weekly to see if it makes sense as it could just be 4 days for example
Your backpay will be separate though I can't imagine it will be that substantial as you only applied in Oct so not that long ago0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone.0
