I am here on behalf of my daughter. It has been a lonely journey with plenty of pains. However, I am happy to have found this community.
I have a challenge on my hands, and the reality is bringing me down as I have a limited understanding of the system. I have to do the best for my daughter, but I face many challenges as a man looking after a daughter, and no one takes me seriously. I need help, and I am here to find help.
I say a big thank you to everyone connected to the foundation of this community and all users and administrators.
May you all have a fantastic year, 2022.

Hello @todunlami
Welcome to the community, thanks for introducing yourself, it's nice to have you aboard.
Sorry to hear that you have found things hard with your daughter, it certainly can be tricky to navigate the various complicated systems and inaccessibilities that exist out there, but I'm sure you're doing fantastically.
Are there any particular challenges that you are experiencing at the moment?1 -

You are fantastic here. I am having issues getting my Daughter anything that looks like work. She is adamant she must get a Job. But it's challenging with her learning issue. I don't understand her benefit, and the social lady said to get help with CAB. She also wants her independence. The social service lady suggested supported living. But nothing much is happing on that. I can't go to work because I have to help her.
After the covid 19 issues, she has become very anxious, frustrated and angry that she is not making progress. This is giving me more concerns.0 -
Hi @todunlami It's good to hear from you!
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is struggling to find suitable work at the moment. I'm wondering whether she might find it helpful to engage with one of our employment services. Perhaps you could have a look at let us know whether you think any of them look like they could help her out?I don't understand her benefit, and the social lady said to get help with CABHave you been able to get in touch with Citizens Advice so that you can understand what benefits she's on? You could also post about this in one of our benefits categories. The social service lady suggested supported living. But nothing much is happing on that. These things can take time, but it could be good to find out whether any progress is being made on this. Are you able to contact the social worker to see if they have any updates? Has your daughter had a needs assessment from your local authority? After the covid 19 issues, she has become very anxious, frustrated and angry that she is not making progress. The pandemic has certainly been difficult for many people in a number of different ways. Has she spoken to the GP about her anxiety and frustration at all?
