Hi every one, I'm paraplegic having broken my spine 4 years ago, due to having Ankylosing Spondylitis and bamboo spine, which didn't help when i fell over, Ha Ha!
I'm an Archaeoastronomer and spend a lot of my time debating ancient people's belief in the stars.
I'm very social and run a community club from my flat, doing lots of games, showing films and doing dinners and B.B.Q's in the Summer.
Hope to see you around the forums
You can call me Astro for short!

Hello @Astronomer65 (or Astro!)
Welcome to the community and thank you for sharing some information about yourself.
It sounds as if you've got a lot of cool things going on, and it's really nice to hear about your passions ad interests. I'm interested to know how you got into Archeoastronomy? I love nature and stars always amaze me. However, I must admit I don't know too much about them!
If you have any questions about the community forum, then please let us know. The best place to start might be the coffee lounge as it's a good place to meet new friends and play games.

Thank you for all your kind message, and as Libby asked how long i have studied the stars, i would have to say 50 years, so along time, a sample of my musings is below:-
The ancients built stone circles, many show Equinox's and Solstices, it would seem by video below that Sirius was viewed by a roof box in Newgrange in Ireland.
It is open to debate if ancient people knew that 365 days were a year and perhaps added a leap day every four years by viewing Sirius.

I know i am speculating but could the same be true for Gobekli Tepe?
