Was told I’ve been awarded but the assessor said it’ll probably take until April to get my decision? Does this mean I’ll have to wait until April to get the back dated money or the letter? I’m so confused can come one explain

If the assessor told you this then they shouldn't have done that because it's not their job to do that. They make recommendations only, they don't make decisions. The only person that can make a decision is a decision maker.Decisions are currently taking between 2-12 weeks. If successfully awarded the money usually goes into the bank before the letter is received. If you're not awarded there will be no money to pay you.0

The assessor doesn't make the award. The assessor writes a report and makes recommendation. Therefore the assessor cannot tell you what you have been awarded. The decision is made by a Decision Maker at the DWP and that can take up to 12 weeks from the assessment date. Usually the decision follows the assessment report but not always.emma2002x said:Was told I’ve been awarded but the assessor said it’ll probably take until April to get my decision?
