Seriously don’t know what to do anymore I’m 32 but I’m sick of having mental health problems and not being able to fix them.

    Hello @Bulbs89,

Welcome to the community and thank you for joining us all.

It's great that you've reached out to us and have been so open about your mental health concerns. Are you currently in touch with your GP about your mental health? If not, it might be a good idea to speak to them and let them know about your current feelings. They can offer professional advice and help you move forward with things.

We do have a mental health and wellbeing section on the community, that I've moved your comment into, in the hope that others will respond and share their experiences with you. Mind also have some great resources about mental health, that I think would be really useful for you. They have some information about mental health self care and also offer online support via their side by side community.

I hope the above helps and please know that we are here for you and the community is a supportive space for all our members.

Hello @Bulbs89 I'm sorry to hear how long it's been taking to start getting the support you feel you need, or to feel like you're being left behind somehow. I'm sure it's a feeling that many of our members can relate to.

It must have been a great relief to hear residential care is on it's way! Have you spoken with anyone about exactly how long it might take?

I know it's frustrating to have another wait to deal with, perhaps speaking to your GP or another specialist you're in touch with about how you're feeling right now would be helpful.

We're here for a listening ear if you need, and do let us know if you feel we can help furhter.

Well after spending 7 days in a&e 5 of them sleeping in a chair and just basically eating **** coz a&e only have a snack trolley I was moved to a mental health bed to then be kicked out 2 days later and I quote it’s no appropriate for you to be in a mental health hospital because of my diagnosis borderline personality disorder ( last time I checked it was a mental health problem) wasn’t suprised because on the ward I was on they gave me the heads up that the doctor would do that…
I asked the crisis team for help ( got the usual we will give you as much help as you need ) nope they offered to come out once a day but then proceeded to tell me ultimately it’s Upto me to keep myself safe and so I showed them the door and then I put a formal complaint in about the last 14 months the fact they have used me not engaging as an excuse for there inadequate service when I have engaged like 2 days be before depending them 7 days in a&e I said 1 phone call a month isn’t enough I need more like once a week the cmht said no we can’t do that.
all I need is for them to fill out the form for the it’s panel but obviously that’s asking for two much.
Anyone know if I cannot privately to have that form filled out?
I have a meeting an actual f2f who knew they still existed on the 3rd of may with the service manager and the pals manager to discuss there poor care and plan going forward as it’s goes it’s a day before my birthday fingers crossed new year better outcome!!

    Hello @Bulbs89

Thanks for coming back to this thread, it's nice to hear from you.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to make much progress and that you aren't being supported as much as you need.

Regarding this part of your post:

asked the crisis team for help ( got the usual we will give you as much help as you need ) nope they offered to come out once a day but then proceeded to tell me ultimately it’s Upto me to keep myself safe and so I showed them the door and then I put a formal complaint in about the last 14 months

Just to clarify, did you accept the support they were offering of one visit each day? And then subsequently they withdrew that support?

    Additionally:

all I need is for them to fill out the form for the it’s panel but obviously that’s asking for two much.

Apologies, I'm not sure what form you are referring to, would you please mind clarifying that for me so that I can better suggest any support you could get with it?

I hope your meeting on the 3rd of May goes well, you'll have to let us know how you get on :)

To clarify about the 1 visit a day thing…..
I had just had a serious self harm episode and spent 7 days in a&e waiting for a mental health bed to then be chucked out of the mental health hospital after 2 days that was on the Saturday afternoon after me ringing the crisis team they finally came round Sunday afternoon the man that came we have had problems before when he worked for the cmht I was asking for twice daily visits because I had just been chucked out of the mental health hospital with no plan in place nothing and all said was no you can have a once daily visit I was like herm still feeling **** at this point telling him how I was feeling and he couldn’t give a monkey’s.
So yeah I told him to poke his once a day visit where the sun don’t shine I’m not having someone come in my home and blame me for having mental health illness and telling me I’m not engaging coz I was but not with a person like that.

and the bit of paper is a referral for the oats panel for private funding.

last note if we all think one visit a day is a great service this country really has gone to rubbish.

Does anyone know if you pay someone to come out it’s you a couple  of times a week for a coffee and a chat?
( I have family but to be able to talk to someone who isn’t my family and just to give my family a break from caring for me would do them and me good I think. )

Hi @Bulbs89 have you had a look at Befriending Networks before?

They have a Directory you can search to try and find a service near you.

I hope that's helpful for you, but do let me know if there's anything you're still unsure about :)

Can’t find anything for where I live. What I did find for over 55s and I’m 32.

Ah that's frustrating @Bulbs89 I'm sorry, Befriending Network do suggest this as well:
Other resources for finding a Befriender include your local Council of Voluntary Service (CVS)Volunteer Centre (Local Volunteer Development Agency) or Social Work Department.
It might be worth enquiring with your local council about any charities or social enterprises that they know of which could help?

Perhaps you could also speak your local MP, if there is nothing local to you, there's room to start an initiative perhaps?
