No worries Teddybear, just been trying to get rid of the 10 or is there a way to alter my name?  Anyway, I am a person who has been dealt a tough set of cards and after all that I have been thru in life...  I am now a 'disabled' person and have a so much I have lost and missed as my heart attack happened at 17 years and now 30+ ....  Just not excited each day to live and have no opportunities in life....

Hi @RaymondLuk10 Welcome to this great group,

Bless you, you sound a bit low have you discussed your feelings with your doctor.
Try and have a good look around the site, you may find you have things in common with many of the lovely people on this site.

Thank you Sue for your concern, but to be honest, I guess low is the new norm' for me now...  Doctors are no help as they just increase the medication, anti-depressants and send me to see the psychologists...  I have looked at this site people, but nothing really caught my eye unfortunately..  Thank you anyway for the response x

Sorry I missed the tag! Would you like your username to be changed @RaymondLuk10? If so, just pop an email over to community@scope.org.uk and we can get that sorted for you :)

I'm also sorry to hear that things have been tough for you lately. Have you tried talking therapy at all? Some people find that helps them to feel less low and find positive ways forward.

Would you be able to expand a little bit on what you mean by having no opportunities in life? For example, is this in relation to jobs, relationships, housing etc.?

Its ok Tori, as I have numerous names in different media accounts...  Raymond Romeo is a name I use also...

It's ok as I believed to of tried every therapy that is available, from the medications, dosage increases, psychologists, healthy minds, counsellors...  Just a waste of time....  I do not believe that they can understand the pain, unless they have gone through the time of difficulties...  As you know there is only so much you can read in books and study...

Having opportunities in life, such as going to Uni, driving, dating, being happy, not worrying about thyself and others...

I have studied all I can, even applied and was accepted by the universities, studying Psychology and Business, but as it was out of my way and the teacher didn't believe i can cope.. had to let the dream go...
As I live in Oldham, I have always want to move to Manchester, where there is more things to do, the churches, gyms and food are in Manchester..  But I was told that if' I were to live in Manchester it would not be in the City Centre and not near China town.  Plus my benefits would be affected too...  so I just can't win....

I had been told by the job agency to search for a part - time job, but nothings is available and with the virus outbreak, I don't stand a sitting, as employers will know I am Chinese, already, this is a red alert for them.

But, all my friends are studying, working and doing life, whilst I will always be always be an outsider and don't 'Fit in" within their lives...   Just waiting till the end of days...

Hello @RaymondLuk10:) Thank you so much for sharing your story. It’s lovely to have you join us on the community! You poor soul, please don’t be so hard on yourself. I am so sorry to hear you feel that way. Please remember we are here you for you. I think feeling stuck in life is an experience that resonates with many people, especially during the Coronavirus situation. You might find the Samaritans helpful if you need someone to talk with: https://www.samaritans.org/

Look after yourself. I hope you find the light in the darkness  <3

No worries, I have tried all the possibles way to help me out of my situation, however all have failed hands down, from the increase in Depressants, to Healthy minds, Psychologists, sociologists, all a waste of time...  Just waiting for the next bad incident in my life...  As I don't hope for anything or don't allow to dream of anything in life, without any drive nor believes just hard to stay positive hun ...  But thank you for trying to offer me a hand in my times of turmoil x

That sounds really difficult @RaymondLuk10. However, finding what doesn't work points you in the direction of what might work. One step closer to support.

In an ideal world, what would support for you look like at the moment? Sending you hugs. I hope things are on the up for you soon.

One of my favourite quotes is "the sunshine is always there, it is just hidden behind the clouds sometimes". I hope your sunshine comes out again soon.

However, if you need anything in the meantime, please don't hesitate to let us know  <3

    Hi @RaymondLuk10

Thanks for your replies on this thread, I'm sorry to read that you are still feeling quite low about things. I do hope that the replies from our community members have helped you to feel better. Many people find taking part on here to be a positive outlet for them so I hope it can be that for you too.

You do appear to have tried to access support in the past, which is good, however I'm sorry that nothing has quite worked for you just yet. I would always encourage you to continue accessing your GP if you ever feel as though you need more, or different, support and I'm sure they will do everything they can to work with you to find the best course of action.

Additionally, organisations such as Mind can always be there to provide useful advice and information through their numerous help pages. And you are more than welcome to contact our helpline for a chat using the details over on this page.

Do you mind me asking what benefits you are worried about being impacted by a potential move?  What are you claiming at the moment?

I had been told by the job agency to search for a part - time job, but nothings is available and with the virus outbreak, I don't stand a sitting, as employers will know I am Chinese, already, this is a red alert for them.

I'm sure that you have many skills that will be valuable to loads of employers. The job market can be a tricky one to navigate, and sometimes luck does play a part, however with the right support and guidance I'm certain that you will be able to find something you enjoy and will thrive in.

Have you considered looking into any of Scope's employment services?

But, all my friends are studying, working and doing life, whilst I will always be always be an outsider and don't 'Fit in" within their lives...   Just waiting till the end of days...

Have you discussed these concerns with any of your friends? If they are aware of how you feel, perhaps they would be able to better support you. Often, when everyone is so pre-occupied with going about their lives it can be tough to spot when somebody might be struggling. However hopefully if you have a word with them they will be there to listen and support, and can help you to feel better about things.

It's ok as I have perceived and know that everyone is going thru difficulties so i cannot afford to add to their concerns or worries in life.  As I' am meant to be the strong one in my friends circle, so I would not ask them or anyone for help.

    Hi @RaymondLuk10

Thanks for your response. I can hear you are struggling to tell people about the difficulties you face because everyone is going through difficulties. I also get a sense that you think it is a sign of weakness.

What I always ask people in response to this is would you not share your happiness with others because there's always someone who is happy? We are here for you and nothing is too big or too small  :)

Hi @RaymondLuk10 i second what @L_Volunteer has said - also if you had a friend with a problem be it health or any thing else, wouldn't you want to help if you could. That's part of being friends.
