Hello @HONEST
Welcome to the community.
Sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment, do you have anybody else living with you such as a partner who can support you at this time?
Firstly, do you mind me asking whether or not you are receiving all the benefits you are entitled to? A good way to check this would be by filling out a benefits calculator, or contacting an organisation such as Citizens Advice so you can receive some professional benefits advice. You could also contact your local authority and explain your situation to them, they would be able to advise on anything you could be claiming that you aren't at the moment.
Have you been in touch with your son's Gp about his condition and the challenges you are having? Are they aware of your situation? If you haven't been in communication with them it might be worth getting in touch to see if they can support you at all. Additionally, you could consider contacting your local authority's social services team to get a needs assessment, which would help to determine whether they could provide any support to you and your son.
Scope have services that can help to provide emotional support to parents of disabled children, and you can read further about them below:
DO let me know if you have any questions about any of the above, or if there is anything else the community can support with.2 -
Hi and welcome to the community
Have you applied or considered dla for your son . You have to evidence that he needs more care than non disabled child of same age . It is sometimes a challenge for younger children as all babies need maximum care but it might be worth a try1 -
I'm so grateful to hear from you Rose Scope cannot access that help because I stay in UGANDA here in East Africa and the offers are limited to only those ends thank you0

Hi @HONEST
Thank you for your response, I hope you are getting on okay today.
I see, thanks for explaining. Are there any organisations within your country that you could contact to access support services? You may know, but Scope is primarily a UK based charity so my knowledge of what support could be available in Uganda is limited.
Would it be possible for you to contact a local authority or doctor about yours and your son's situation?0
