Hi everyone, thank you in advance if you reply.  I returned my PIP form and had acknowledgement receiving it. I put a lot of info on, examples, scenarios, results/reports etc and lots of additional information.  I have still not had any communication for an assessment it has been 5 months.  Is this normal?  Do you get a letter or a phone call to arrange?

How long have other members waited and do you always have an assessment?

Many thanks Polly

    Hi,

Backlogs are huge in most areas so 5 months is not long. Some members are still waiting several months after returning their forms.
Most people have assessments. It will either be face to face, telephone or video call. Once an appointment becomes available you will be contacted.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hello @Polly_Bee thanks for posting your query today, I'm sorry it's been such a wait so far. Hopefully it won't be too long until an appointment becomes available.

In the meantime you can always use the forum to pass the time if it helps. You can visit our virtual coffee lounge to chat with other members and play games as well.

I've just moved this discussion over into the PIP category so it's easier to find. I wish you all the best with your application, it sounds as though you've prepared really well. Keep us updated with how you get on :)

    Hi Alex & The Community

I received my text a couple of days after I posted this question.  Had my telephone assessment yesterday, I was all prepared after spending hours reading on here thank you to everyone.  I said it as it is which echoed my application.  The call lasted 1 hr 30 (I had answered no to a few questions on my application so seemed quite lengthy still), the lady was nice, very thorough and questioned everything in depth, I was able to answer everything and describe so what will be will be.

She asked the ins and outs of every step I take and how I do things and I was comfortable answering.

She asked if I have home therapy coming in which I don't but I had also wrote a lengthy piece on my application detailing my excercise home therapy under section 3 that my daughter helps me with 3 times daily, I detailed times, aids used (hip support etc) how my daughter helps me on the floor and assists what I do and has for 2 years and this is my normal routine following a prescribed excercise plan.

This never came up now I come to think in all of her questions she did question everything else.  Could this have been skirted over and she would have put down 0 as I said I don't have anyone coming in to give me therapy (which I understood meant do I have a health professional coming in)?

This was all detailed in Question 3 Managing Therapy of which I had detailed I do need supervision and assistance and wrote a detailed overview of all of the excercises, times durations and help I get from my daughter daily.  She never mentioned my home therapy or mentioned anything about this.  I had mentioned my excercise plan in other areas loosly but was not questioned in depth like I was on all other questions?

Obviously I know you guys aren't here to advise but has anyone else had this where something indepth youve detailed doesn't come up?

    Any thoughts??

    Thanks Polly

They don't ask about everything. If they have enough information on a particular point there is nothing to be gained by discussing it further.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
