    Good morning @HiPPyKiTTy

Wishing you a warm welcome to the community, I hope you are well today and have had a nice weekend so far.

Would you like to tell us a bit about yourself?

This is a very welcoming and supportive community as you have already seen above, so I'm sure you'll enjoy taking part. We have numerous categories, which you can view on this page, and a recent discussions section which will give you an overview of what is going on across the site.

As a new member, I would recommend paying a visit to the virtual coffee lounge to get involved with one of the various games that are going on there at the moment. If you have any questions then don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your messages I have had a good look around the site.  I just really wanted to engage with people who understands what being disabled really means.  I’m a wheelchair user so everyone can see but I either get people trying to interfere or who think I’m ok because I never complain.  I live in my own and still working from home but hopefully will be able to go back soon, they haven’t been able to get evac chair training done so this has mostly prevented me from returning plus some health issues so have been a bit isolated.

Thanks for explaining @HiPPyKiTTy that's really helpful :) I'm glad you've been able to look around.

I can relate as a wheelchair user myself, it's a complicated feeling to describe, and very often it can feel like I'm moaning about it if I'm talking to someone non disabled. You are welcome to use the forum to share any thoughts or feelings you're having around being disabled, and I hope we can help you feel supported.

I can understand the feeling of isolation, especially when your usual workplace is "in the office" so to speak. Have you spoken to HR or any line managers about chasing up the Evac chair training? Does your workplace have any wellbeing support in place that might help?

I have a meeting tomorrow with my line manager and H&S rep to discuss things, so hopefully get an idea of when I’m returning.
I would like to think I’m capable of managing on my own, although I still need assistance changing light bulbs and the fuse box.

That's good @HiPPyKiTTy I hope you can find out when you can return as well.

Those are both good things to have assistance with, even just from a health and safety stand point to help lessen the risks of lone working, but I'm sure the H&S rep will have it covered :)
