Hi everyone
I have fibromyalgia/ME and osteoporosis of my spine, up until last April everything was manageable, two months before in February I had my first vaccine and from then till now as I had all three my life is hell.
In April I couldn’t move my legs,I had paramedics out as my husband at that time was a long way off working I managed to tell my daughter and by the time they come and after taking a diazepam I was able to move a little.
they said it was a fibromyalgia flare I said it wasn’t not had severe back pain and back spasms ever lbefore,it’s a long story but docs have been useless just medication and loads which isn’t helped I kept asking for an MRI and I got one two weeks ago and waiting for results which I am told will be Friday. I have never ever felt as bad as I do now, my husband is depressed, he had to give up work he is my carer and I can hardly walk now we are 62 the pain is every day it moves around,on Christmas Day I rang 111 saying I am desperate for help so they said ring doc I did and just upped my medication.
Thanks for listening.

Hello @jan5987 and a warm welcome to the community :) Thanks for sharing this with us today, I hope you'll find this a supportive and welcoming place.

It's good to know you'll be able to find out a bit more from your MRI result on Friday, fingers crossed that should give you some clarity, and hopefully help you move forward with setting up more suitable support, for you and your husband.

I understand that you're not feeling supported at the moment with the pain you're experiencing, so it's natural this is having an impact on you and your husband's mental health and wellbeing. If you feel like this kind of support would be helpful, I'd like to share some resources with you:
If you were wondering about any financial support you might be eligible to apply for, I can recommend using the benefits calculator from Turn2Us.

You are welcome to explore the forum and chat to members about your experiences too, of course. Often, talking about things with people who are going through something similar can be very helpful. I'd encourage you to have a browse of our Chronic Pain and Pain Management category, or visiting the coffee lounge to get know our members.

Let us know if we can help any further, or if anything doesn't make sense :)

    Alex

    hi Alex
    thank you for your reply
i received the results on Friday, the impact on me is not good at all. I am at loss what to do as it wasn’t expected.
I have looked at the benefits and Carrers and we do have that but it’s not going to help our heating and we are now struggling to pay our electricity I know lots of people in the same boat but it’s either food  or heat and lack of vitamins will make my other health issues worse. The heating is on a lot as the cold makes my muscles so much worse.
I have been in touch with mind and turn to us but not much help from either.
my husband is a proud man he has worked all his life and now on benefits due to me is making him feel worse.
I will have a look at the chronic pain category
I have to have another MRI and more blood tests as I also have inflammation and know one knows why and bulging disks amongst other things the scan said
    thank you

Hi again @jan5987 I'm sorry to hear about your MRI, are you being supported following the result with the impact it's had on your mental health?

I know that Scope are currently offering Disability Energy Support which might be helpful for any worries you have around the cost of heating, and advising you on how to manage this. Please do apply if you feel it would help.

I can see you've posted in the chronic pain category, so I'll reply to that soon too, hopefully another MRI will help get to the bottom of the inflammation. I can appreciate it's a worrying time, so we'll do what we can to support you.

    Hi Alex
no mental heath support at all, I did though ring counselling in my area and I am on a waiting list but was told it could take months.
my husband bless him does try so hard and helps me but it impacts his mental health badly but unlike me he can’t talk to anyone.
thank you for your reply on the chronic health I did reply on that and I found out the man I tried to send a message too it was on the children family support so if you could pass my message on to him, I am learning my way around slowly.
yes I rang scope and they replied about the Disability Energy support I have an appointment in May to speak to someone.
yes everything is causing a lot of stress and worries right now.
i really appreciate everything you and everyone doing it really helps.
    Thank you.
