Hi,You don't say what assessment this is for, whether it's PIP or the work capability assessment? Either way a decision can take anything up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer.0

Welcome to the community @leanne29 How are you doing? Thanks for joining the community!
I'm also not quite sure what you're referring to here. Are you talking about a benefit assessment? I've moved your post into our general benefits and financial support category for the time being, but can always move it somewhere else if needed
As poppy123456 has said, waiting times for benefit assessment decisions can unfortunately be quite long. It's difficult to say exactly how long the wait will be, as it does vary.0 -
It's a pip assessment it been back 3 weeks was told on the phone fro new claims its a 3 week wait0
-
For PIP it's 2-12 weeks ( after the assessment) and this applies to all claims, regardless of whether it's a first time claim or not.

When I phoned up 2 days ago they said they just been notified that desicon are taken 3 weeks that the think get told different stuff all the time0

As you've already waited 3 weeks then they are clearly wrong. There's nothing more you can do until a decision's been made.

When you call you are speaking to an outsourced call handler who doesn't always give the correct advice that's why you are told differently each time you call
We advise based on what other members say about their experiences
Even pre covid it was always advised decisions take up to 8 weeks but with increased backlogs that's why there is more delay0
