Hello @powles and welcome to the community, thank you for reaching out today.

One practical step I can suggest is to seek professional advice, have a look on AdviceLocal.

I'm sorry this has caused you distress, do you feel like you're getting enough support for your mental health at the moment?

I hope you find the community a supportive and welcoming place, and I'm sure our members can advise you about additional support and information you might find helpful.

Please let us know if you feel we can help with anything further.

    Hi,
It's not possible for you to have claimed PIP for 13 years because it was only introduced in April 2013. Before that is was DLA.
Either way, NI credits are not paid when claiming either of those disability benefits. NI credits are paid when claiming certain other benefits like Universal Credit, Income Related ESA/JSA/Income Support or New style ESA/JSA.
Universal Credit is a means tested benefit so whether you're entitled will depend on your circumstances. If you live with a partner you claim as a couple and both of your circumstances will be taken into consideration.
If you've worked in tax years April 2019 to March 2021 then you can claim New style ESA but you'll need a fit note from your GP.
If you haven't worked and you need NI credits towards your state pension then you can claim the ESA and your NI credits will be paid if you're found to have either LCW or LCWRA. You will not be paid any money if it's a credits only claim.
