I've been diagnosed with Diverticulitis disease. Anyone else experienced pain after eating?

Hi all, I hope everyone is feeling well.
After being diagnosed with Diverticulitis disease, I have been eating very little since, sticking to plain chicken, white fish, lemon and ginger tea and plenty of water.
Yesterday I had a lunch meeting and had a J20, about an hour later and since I have increased pain in waves! Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Unfortunately, we are not medical professionals so won’t be able to give you any medical advice. I would advise you so speak to your GP regarding this.0 -
Hi, It is early days I am maybe expecting to much! My consultant said everyone is different, what works for one won't for another.
He asked if I wanted to see a dietitian, which I am going to do, because I dare not eat anything else just in case, he thinks this could have started a good while ago but I have possibly put it down to other things until the pain became unbearable, when I could not even walk.
Thank you for responding1 -
Hi Teddybear12, I to have just been diagnosed with diverticulitis and I also experience excoriation pain which has caused me to attend A&E prior to my diagnosis. There is very little relief for the pain and I am now trying the FOBCOB diet which I may add is not easy. I also suffer with extreme bloating. I am now under a specialist at Aspire hospital and hope to get some resolution to some of the symptoms. If I find anything that helps I will keep you in mind, take care.

Hi Lou,
Ive just read your post. My dad has suffered with this for just over a year now. His GP recommended a high fibre diet, which he mainly follows. How have you been feeling recently with it?0 -
Hi,
I hope yourself and Dad are well.
I am not great again today, I am struggling with food if I'm honest, mainly chicken or white fish, carrots that are well cooked, I was weighed again in hospital yesterday, I've lost 22Lbs since being diagnosed
Some days I feel like I can do this then I feel really down
Thanks for taking the time to respond0 -
Thank you, I appreciate each and every comment.
I know there are many people going through tough times day in day out0 -
Have you heard any news about the referral to the dietitian @Lou27713?0
-
Hi,
I am seeing someone next week
Will keep you posted0 -
That sounds positive @lou27713 I hope that they'll be able to provide you with some guidance on the types of foods you're okay to eat, and those you might want to provide. Have you made some notes on the foods you've been eating, and the foods you've been avoiding/have caused you problems?0
