Going self-employed after work capability assessment?

hello its me again, still struggling to go self-employed.

In short, I’m being advised to consider doing a work capability assessment so that my minimum income floor can be lowered so that I’m only required to get around £600 a month instead of £1200.

This is also to accommodate the constraints that come with self-employment income in temporary accommodation. i'm on the legacy housing benefit system which so long as my UC claim is active I will remain on and will not be required to contribute to the rent. if i go on full time hours it will likely cost me more in paying rent.

The other option for self-employment is to start trading without a MIF applied however this is more risky.

Has anyone been in a similar position? i'm really not sure what to do.

If you have a WCA and are found to have LCW or LCWRA then you would be completely exempt from the MIF.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

As advised the MIF does not apply if you are found to have LCW. The MIF can only be applied to people treated as gainfully self employed in the all work related activities regime. If you have LCW you are not in the all work related activities activities group and the MIF cannot be applied.

Unless you are in a grace period, if you are self-employed, are in the 'all work related requirements' group and your earned income is lower than your MIF amount, your MIF will be used instead of your actual earnings
If you want to read more about the MIF there is a detailed guide here
