Hello, I have received a pip review form to return by May 13th, and I am so stressed about it. I can not get the help immediately or in the time given to return the form. I have

I have physical and mental disabilities and cannot focus or motivate myself to get it done. I wanted to know if I could get an extension on the return date and how to go about it. I hope this makes sense. Thank you all.

Hi and welcome to the community

If you call the pip helpline and request an extension they should be able to give you one

PIP contact number is 0800 121 4433. Best time to ring them will be as soon as they open at 9am. Although even then you could be waiting a while for them to answer.
They will give you a 2 week extension. When you fill out the form, i always find it helpful to do a little each day and then put it away until the next day. Make sure you treat it as a new claim, even if there's been no changes in your conditions. Give as much information as possible and include a couple of real world incidents of what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies.
There's lots of information over on the PIP/DLA section of the forum if you would like to have a read through some threads.

    Hello @cathy25

    Welcome to the community :)

I hope you have found the previous replies helpful, and I look forward to seeing you get involved in the community. Please feel free to have a look around and take part wherever you'd like.

I have moved your discussion over to our PIP category, if you would be interested in receiving some professional support with your form you could always get in touch with Citizens Advice or etner your postcode into Advice Local.

Also, I just wanted to check whether you feel as though you have enough support in place to manage your conditions?

I always understood that they would give you 2 week extension just for asking and in fact had that last time, however I rang them today to get an extension for my review and it was a definite no.
Had they give you more than four weeks on the original deadline?

The letter was dated 18th April with a return date of 18th May, however the letter was received on 25th April, so I suppose yes and no.
So the standard one month, in which case it is alarming that they refused to extend the return. I only asked in case they's given you the extra in the original letter. Of course it's possible that if you rang again and spoke to a different person you might get a different response.
