I added my first sick note onto my account in March 2021 and updated my health condition in July was then sent the wca questionnaire I filled it out and sent it back in august 21 I only had my assessment in April this year 22 I received a letter dated 19th April to say I am awarded lcwra the latter stated that the extra money is awarded 3 months after first medical evidence but my case manager said the lcwra is not being added until august because I have to wait 3 months I have said that I thought it started from first evidence and she said no it’s from the date the decision was made I’m so frustrated now having to wait another 3 months after already waiting since 2021 any advice ?

I have I rang uc helpline and they said there’s nothing they can do that’s how it’s supposed to be but I’m sure I’m right and I should be backdated

The 3 month waiting period starts from when you reported your health condition and it’s then paid from the 4th month of your claim. Providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of this and continued to send them without any gaps until a decision was made.
If you sent it in March 2021 then the extra money will be from either July or August 2021 depending on the exact dates of your assessment periods, or when you usually receive your money each month.

This is what I thought was right but according to my case manager I have to wait until august for the extra payment and I’m not being backdated she said the 3 months wait is from the date the decision was made I don’t know what else to do or say

Put a note on your journal under the payment section and tell them you disagree with the decision and it's your understanding that the waiting period starts from when you reported your health condition (providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of this) Tell them the date you did this and the date you sent your first fit note.
