Hi everyone I’m an newbie here! I applied for pip on the 17th January for severe breathing impairment I’ve had my assessment done last Thursday and the following day on Friday at 8am I received a text message from the dwp saying they have received my report and it can take up to 8 weeks for a decision! The assessor did say to me she would be supporting my claim don’t know if that means anything! I have requested yesterday for my assessment report to be sent out to me which they said they would do! So hopefully that will give me some understanding of any outcomes although I do understand it’s not the final decision! But the waiting about for a decision is utterly soul destroying! I don’t know if I’m pinnng my hopes up to much because the assessor said she will be supporting my claim! To be let down if you know what I mean!

Hi,The assessor shouldn't have said anything to you because it's not their job to do that. The only person that can make a decision is DWP decision maker.0

Yes although she said she would be supporting my decision she did say it’s not her to her!0

Welcome to the community @beth1973Champagne
It's great to have you with us.
Thank you for telling us about your experiences so far. You're certainly not the only one who's found the wait for a decision quite nerve wracking! I hope that you don't have to wait too long for a decision. How did you find the assessment?0 -
What was your outcome ?0

Please also remember that PIP isn’t awarded based on a diagnosis. As we are all affected differently by these conditions and you never get 2 people that same. Whether you’ll be awarded will depend on how your conditions affect you.0
