I agree with poppy and sue I have never chased up any part of my claims it won't make it any quicker to get a decision all it does is cause more stress constantly thinking about it and it ties up the phone lines no wonder it takes so long to get through
Also as its a call centre the info they give isn't always accurate you can rung up more than once about same query and get a different answer every time
I know it's hard waiting but personally I think chasing all the time is not the best option1 -

I've no idea where they get 2 or 3 weeks from, sometimes a decision is made within the time but not always. The timescale at the moment is more like up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer. Backlogs are just part of the reason a decision can be delayed. Comparing someone else to yourself as far as timescales go is also not helpful. It all adds to the needless extra stress.
