Hello Wilko. I love the pic of your dog. My husband and I both have medical problems too and we soldier on even though it is hard sometimes.0

Lovely to see you posting again @wilko, however sorry to hear that your health has gone downhill lately. I hope that things take an upward turn soon for you and your wife

Hi @wilko must say I’m surprised to see you make a welcome thread as I always considered you a long standing member. Sorry to hear your health has gone downhill and your wife’s isn’t improving though glad to hear that your benefits have been sorted out as that’s always a massive stress and can damage peoples mental health so at least that’s one thing you don’t need to worry about for the foreseeable future. That said putting the money aside I do hope that you’re getting all the non financial support you are entitled to like help from the doctors and hospitals etc. I have to agree that Poppy is very knowledgeable when it comes to benefits and has helped me in the past as well.

Hello @wilko. Lovely to hear from you.
It is really positive to hear all your benefits have been sorted out and you find many of the benefits questions have been answered by @poppy123456. I am sure @poppy123456 will appreciate your recognition. I am also really glad to hear that finding the comments and replying is very helpful when you are asked certain questions about benefits etc.
It doesn't sound easy that your health has gone downhill and your wife’s is not up. Would you like to share more with us about how things are for you at the moment? We are here for you if you would like to share more with us.
In the meantime, keep soldiering on and be reassured that we are all here for you should you need or want anything. You don’t have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don’t want to

thank you to all of you who took time to reply with your kind thoughts and good wishes since my previous posting. My wife’s healthcare is moving surprisingly quicker than we both expected with follow up Hospital appointments happening quickly. Myself I still get 3 times a day walking Maggie on my scooter a must have and never be put off getting one if you are think about it. With the weather changeable Maggie and I cover between 5 to 7 miles a day depending on rain as neither of us enjoy getting wet. We have meet and made good friends over the last 6 years of being disabled. It appears that dog owners have a different outlook on life compared with those without a pet. Very rarely see dog walkers on their phones. We have an exchange of our problems and well being. We haven’t put the world to right yet but we do haven a fountain of knowledge of what could or should be done but what do we know. As for the benefits system where is the money coming from?? We as a nation are seeing selective racism with unusual help to the incoming Ukraine peoples while the migrants from the other countries are ignored reference help to claim benefits ect. A lot of our primary and secondary schools are closed today because teachers missed out on a Bank Holiday Monday my grandson was at school what’s going on. Keep up up the good work it’s good, it’s great to talk only wish more would engage with each other and avoid the avalanche of mental health problems and issues heading our way much can be avoided if only people talk and impart their problems to other to share and unburden their issues which may just need someone to talk to.0

You're right that having small conversations with people can be really important for our wellbeing @wilko That's something I missed during the height of the lockdowns. I'm glad that you've found dog walkers a friendly bunch. 5 to 7 miles is really impressive!
Is that Maggie in your profile picture?
P.S. I've merged two of your threads together, as your new post seemed to be following on from the last. I hope that's okay.0
