Help I’m a Technophobe

I am finding it so hard to navigate my way around this site. I am sure it is my technical inadequacies that are the stumbling block and not the fault of the designers of the site so no fingers being pointed here 😊 When I am attempting to respond to people’s discussion topics I am somehow managing to hijack their actual post. How do I not do this please? Thank you in advance for your help.

When you are on the page of the discussion that you want to respond to, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page, there should be a box that you can type your reply in.

When you use the post comments button you reply will appear on the post for everyone to see 

This is how the forum is set up.  You can tag someone by putting @ before user name 

To reply to an individual without it appearing you need to send them a private message which you can do once you have 25 points 

To do this click in your 0tofikr pic then there is an envelope at top of screen click this to send pm 
Enter username of who you want to message without the @ in front

I’m sorry but I am still completely befuddled. It must just be me. I can’t see any of the artwork in the gallery even, I am just being emailed the responses to people’s work but not the work 🙁
