Welcome to the community @stebbsie999 It's great to have you on board, so thank you for joining!
Thank you also for sharing a little bit about your situation. I'm sorry to hear that your wife has had to go into a care home, and that you've been feeling a bit lonely. I can only imagine how challenging that must be.
We're a friendly bunch here, so I'm sure you'll fit right in. If you fancy taking part in some general chatter and games, you might like to head over to our virtual coffee lounge. You can view our other categories on the categories page.
Have you had a look to see whether there are any local groups in your area that you could join to help ease some of those feelings of loneliness? I appreciate not all of them will be accessible, unfortunately, but there may be some that are.
Do you have any particular interests or hobbies?0 -

I have been told bout a Grandad club in Cheam, but having checked out their meet up place on the day I was told, I found it closed, and have no contact number for anybody?0

It was Age UK, but did as you said, but found out no more info0

Hi @stebbsie999
Hopefully this very friendly community will make you feel good0 -
Did you contact Age UK generally, or your local branch @stebbsie999? I assume it'd come under Age UK Sutton, who you can email on activities@ageuksutton.org.uk0

It was Age UK Sutton that I contacted. The leaflet they provided me with is dated Feb. 2013, so perhaps the club disbanded owing to Covid or whahtever. ----Thanks for trying to help.0

Ahh yes, perhaps that group doesn't exist anymore @stebbsie999. From looking on their website, it seems that they currently run the following activities:
Do any of those interest you?
As teddybear12 has said, your local council would be another good place to ask, as they should know what's going on. Do you know how to contact them?0
