Opportunities to share experiences in exchange for a voucher
On this forum I often see opportunities to earn vouchers of a decent monetary amount, often £20-50, but they all require taking part in an online video meeting or phone call.
I have lots of spare time and I’d love to help and earn a bit for my time but would find it impossible to do either of those.
I’m guessing this has already been explored and that there’s a reason why it hasn’t been done already but I’m just wondering if Scope would consider putting these out in other formats for those of us who find it hard to use the phone or speak via video chat?
I think an email questionnaire would be more accessible for some - also, just an idea, but you could regulate it so the response has to be at least x thousand words so you get the same amount of detail as you’d get over the phone.
Is this possible or is there a reason why the opportunities are strictly phone/webchat based?
Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I've just passed this on to our user research team @66Mustang
In the meantime, would a 'card sort' exercise, such as this new opportunity, be accessible to you?0 -
I asked on one of them @66Mustang and they said they could work it so I could type my replies which may work for you as well? They might have other adjustments too

Thank you for passing it on @Tori_Scope
Yes those card sorts are definitely accessible, though I haven’t completed that one as I don’t have children.
The reason I was interested in the others was that they are guaranteed to get you a voucher, rather than entering a draw.
That said, I just realised how much that sounds like I’m only interested in the money. That isn’t the case I promise! I just thought it could be a way I could lend my time and get something in return to help with the cost of shopping. Truth be told if the 1 hour call was put into email format I’d likely spend far longer than an hour writing out my answers - probably several hours.
Thank you again0 -
I completely understand, don't worry @66Mustang! I'm sure the team want to make things as accessible as they can, so would do their best to accommodate for any adjustments that'd need to be made1

I’d be ok doing a questionnaire too.0

Hopefully, there will be lots you can get involved in @leeCal. Your voice is critical and deserves to be heard.
As @Biblioklept says, I have also asked for a typed chat, which has been happily accommodated. They are generally flexible to your needs and strengths1 -
Hi @66Mustang thanks for this feedback.
As @Biblioklept mentioned we can run these content testing sessions using instant messenger. Usually this means joining a call and using the type chat function to communicate. Would that be accessible to you?
Next time we publicise one of these sessions I will make it clear that people can participate by instant messenger as well as phone or video call, so we don't exclude people.
When we do interviews we are happy to send email questionnaires if people prefer to communicate that way too.
Best wishes

Thank you for clarifying @Grace_Scope and everyone else. Much appreciated.0

Great I am on the panel but don't respond to many as I can talk on phone buf don't want to video chat
Much rather email or phone interviews0 -
Thanks @Grace_Scope
I think the research panel offer similar adjustments @janer1967 I remember asking them about this previously, and they mentioned that some people type in the chat rather than speak during video call sessions, and that it's fine to have your camera turned off. @James_Scope may be able to elaborate on this more.0
