So I claimed first time PIP 3 years ago and I still have 10 months left for my PIP expiry however I have received my PIP award review form this morning. Since then I have been diagnoses with further illnesses and health condition which I will add. But can you guys let me know what to expect. Like will they call me in for f2f or is it still telephone assessment? Also will they stop my pip payments or is the worse case scenario that it will stay the same?

Thanks in Advance

When you fill out the form you need to make sure you treat it as a new claim and put as much information as possible.
Include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted that activity for each descriptor that applies to you. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.
Most people have assessments, even for reviews so you should expect one of those. This can either be face to face at an assessment centre, telephone or video call.
There's quite large backlogs so you may not hear anything for several months.
Worst case would be if you're refused, then your payments will stop, even if you still have months left on your current award.

@poppy123456 thank you very much. When I went to my universal credit assessment I had a female assesor she was lovely and has awarded me full. But my last pip assessment was over the phone due to covid and it was a male assesor and he was very harsh and aggressive. So Do I have the chance to change the gender of my assesor?

I think you can say you have a preference but I don't think they can guarantee it plus there's no way to know that a future male one would be aggressive or rude and a female nice.

Also, I was involved in a car accident a few weeks ago and this has flared my illnesses. Would that cause a problem at the assessment if I tell them. My doctor even wrote that it has worsened my mobility

Any worsening of condition must have been there for at least 3 months and expected to last at least a further 9 months.

@poppy123456 okay thank you. Just a last question how long does usually take to receive a reply? Because I read some forums that people now received text within 7 days that they have been awarded without assessment.

It's very rare to have a paper based assessment so you should expect one, which will either be by telephone, face to face or video call. Backlogs are quite long in a lot of areas so you could be waiting several months. You still have 10 months left on your current award so there's plenty of time remaining.

Yes, you can just contact the health assessment providers and ask them. The number will be on the top of the letter when you receive it.

Just a quick question as you mentioned health assessment letter.  I received a random call last wednesday that actually turned out to be my assessment(took literally 10 mins) i have not received any letters from Atos.

I sent my award review paper work back in feb 2022 and last Wednesday was the first contact from Feb.

Is there much i can do about this? as the assessor has now sent her report to dwp. I just wish she had also disclosed that the call was actually my only chance to give her as much info as poss. I had no notice whatsoever!

@Middleton the phone call you had was very likely for them to just ask a few questions before writing the report, it's known as a paper based assessment.  When this happens, they don't usually give you any notice of an appointment. It's rare to have paper based assessment but i can happen.
My experience of paper based assessments have all been good. I've yet to know of any refusal from a paper based assessment. Try not to worry because it can only be a good thing.

@poppy123456 I have send my form in yesterday and this morning I have received a letter that PIP has received my award review form. However, about 30 mins ago I have received a call I guess its the case manager or the employees, he wanted to confirm few information. He also stated that the deadline is 4th August for the case manager to mark but can take up to 12 weeks due to the backlog but he said that he didn't assign any 2nd opinion like assessment yet. Hopefully this is good

I'm not even sure how exactly that's even possible. Usually it takes at least a few weeks for them to receive the forms and for them to be added onto the computer. Letters sent from DWP can also take a week to arrive. I've never known them send letters to say they received your forms.. text messages yes.
You should expect your file to be sent to the health assessment providers but this often takes several weeks, sometimes longer.

@L_Volunteer thanks for your understanding. This Pip award review has really stressed me out and I cant get wait to get it over. As I have been diagnosed with further health conditions plus had a car accident. So hopefully this will get done very soon

The PIP award review sounds really stressful @james19o6. We hear you. It is more of a reflection of the difficult situation than you as a person.

Though, I can hear how the stress you may be feeling may be exacerbated by being diagnosed with further health conditions and having a car accident.

Have you got the support you need in place for these and what usually helps you when you are feeling stressed?

We are here for you if we can do anything else to support you. Got my fingers crossed for you  :)
