Do you need an official diagnosis for PIP?

I am suspected autism and wondering if I could redo my claim to factor this in, amongst other new conditions.

    No because it's not awarded based on any diagnosis. Whether you'll qualify will totally depend on how your conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities. https://pipinfo.net/ They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence so do be aware of that.
    A successful claim can potentially take about 10 months, sometimes longer.

    You don't need a diagnosis to claim PIP, but of course having one can be used as supporting evidence as part of your claim.

    PIP is more about how you are impacted on a day to day basis by your condition rather than any diagnosis. 

    What is the state of your current claim?

    Hi,

    I would be re doing my claim. As I feel I’ve got worse with my mental health.

    What do you mean re doing your claim? Do you currently have an award in place? Were you recently refused?

    I have been awarded PIP until 2023 or something along those lines. I think I may be due a review soon. It suggested 1 year 6 months for a review but at the moment I’m at 1 year 2 months I think.

    A diagnosis, isn't classed as a change of circumstances that needs to be reported.
    When you receive your review forms you just need to tell them everything about your conditions and how they affect you. You should treat the review as a new claim.

    May I ask? If you start work and it contradicts the claim. Is that a change of circumstances or something to be used at review? I find that confusing.

    For PIP, working isn't a change of circumstances. When you have your review you need to treat it as a new claim.

    On the report. 

    It says recommendation and evidence used. And other descriptor supported. 

    Does this mean it uses both to describe the award or? Which one is used.

    The report is a recommendation only, it’s not the decision letter. The decision letter will tell you what evidence was used. 
    If you’re thinking of returning to work and you’re worried about your PIP award then you’ll need to get some expert advice from an agency near you. You can then ask them for advice regarding your LCWRA and working.

    The decision letter just says stuff like, I decided you do need this help or that help. 

    It doesn’t go into the specifics like the medical report does. 

    Sorry if I’m being annoying but I’m just trying to make sure I’m making the correct decisions.

    I can’t tell you whether returning to work would be a contradiction. You need to look at where you scored those points and then decide if returning to work contradicts that.
