Thank you Teddybear and Poppy. It is very good news. It was a worsening condition that I reported in writing in March 2021 (a date they have acknowledged in the MR and I still have the paperwork and receipts) followed by the form from them 11 weeks later in June 2021. It was a supersession request due to the worsening condition but I did not get seen for a wca until much later in May 2022 which they have promptly backdated to. Can anyone confirm that I should normally expect a further payment going back the further 14 months to March 2021 to when I instigated the supersession request? Thank you.

The extra money should be paid from when you reported the changes in March 2021.

Yes it is a relief. Thank you.

Just one query, previously when I was in the support group between 2013-18 it was supposedly for three years which ended up (due to huge backlogs) being five. Then when they put me down to WRAG it was for two years which continued on for 2 and a half years before I instigated the review myself reporting a worsening condition. This letter I got today says I will be re-referred in 12 months, but surely now i've been freshly reviewed and that apparantly they are still not doing normal reassessments because of the already chronic backlogs/pandemic backlogs I am now back of the queue again for reassessment? There must be hundreds of thousands of people who last got reviewed in 2015/16/17/18/19/20 who are surely ahead of me in the queue now? Knowing my luck an ESA50 will thud on my doormat next October right on schedule!

I'm surprised the letter gives a timescale because they don't usually. Even so, Support Group is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. With the backlogs there is right now i'll be very surprised if you receive anything anytime soon.

I got a two sided letter today, on the second page a sentence says 'You are placed in the Support Group to be re-referred in 12 months'. Hopefully it will be a lot longer than that due to backlogs and zero/low numbers of reassessments though I do know they can review you anytime from three months onwards.

It is a good job I rang them. It looks like they had no intention whatsoever of backdating to the time I reported a worsening of conditions back in March 2021. As of now they have only backdated to the wca assessment I had in May this year. I am expecting a call back over the next three days, I don't know what it is they want me to discuss with them, they have all the paperwork going back to March 2021 when I asked for a supersession due to the worsening of my conditions. I have nothing to add to what I've already told them and sent to them. Oh well, more hassle and waiting.

It sounds positive that you rang them @madmadden, especially as you recognise the value of ringing them.

I can hear the uncertainty of not knowing what it is they want you to discuss with them. Do you feel comfortable asking them this as a question?

It sounds frustrating that there is more hassle and waiting. What, if anything, would help this to feel more manageable for you at the moment?

We are all here for you and listening to you if you would like to share more with us. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to  :)
