Hi i spoke to an advisor today. Long and short i am on lcwra, i do a couple hours freelance media work weekly i declare to uc. I have one child age 4. Husbamd works full time.
The freelance person wants to put me on her books. As ive always understood anything i would earn would be deducted OFF my uc. Apparently this is not the case unless i earned over £573 which inwouldnt. Could anyone clarify for me please. Thanks.

That’s not correct if you live with your husband then you’ll be claiming UC as a couple. This means that your work allowance is applied to your claim and not per person. As your husband works full time then the work allowance will already be used up by his earnings. Any earnings received each month outside of the work allowance will reduce your UC by 55%.1
